ELEGOO belongs in this conversation because the Neptune line has repeatedly competed aggressively on price and features.
The catch is that the Neptune 4 currently sits above our strict $200 ceiling. At roughly $219 direct at the time of this update, it is close enough that a promotion, clearance, or refurbished offer can change the decision quickly.
The Neptune 4 offers a 225 × 225 × 265 mm build volume, Klipper-based operation, automatic bed leveling, direct-drive extrusion, and much higher advertised maximum speeds than the older generation of inexpensive printers.
If it drops below $200 from a seller you trust, it deserves another look.
But I would not write an article telling you it is a $199 printer when it is not $199 today. Budget guides should help you spend money—not play hide-and-seek with yesterday’s sale price.
3. Sovol: A Good Company to Compare Before You Buy
Sovol built much of its reputation with practical, enthusiast-friendly machines and an open approach that appeals to users who enjoy learning how their hardware works.
The current SV06 ACE, however, is around $239 rather than below $200.
That makes Sovol less relevant to someone with an absolute spending cap but very relevant to someone asking a better question:
“What would another $40 actually buy me?”
Sometimes the answer is enough improvement in speed, automation, connectivity, or overall workflow to justify waiting another month and saving a little more.
4. Anycubic: Watch the Price, but Know Whether You Want FDM or Resin
Anycubic has long competed in both filament and resin printing, which creates an important distinction for beginners.
A resin printer and an FDM printer are not interchangeable simply because both create objects layer by layer.

5. Flashforge: Better Used as a Reminder Not to Trust Old Buying Guides

The Adventurer 5M is a much more modern machine, but its current pricing places it well above $200 before special discounts.
