“Real-time feedback built into the scanner”
The built-in screen appears genuinely useful. Seeing tracking status and scan information near the object could reduce the awkward habit of moving the scanner while trying to watch a laptop several feet away.
However, real-time feedback is not the same as fully standalone processing. You still need a supported phone, tablet, or computer.
“Zero prep and zero spray”
Creality advertises the ability to capture black and metal objects without scanning spray. That is an appealing capability, especially for mechanical parts that are dark, shiny, or inconvenient to coat.
I would not interpret this as a guarantee that every glossy, reflective, featureless, or complex object will scan perfectly with no preparation. Creality’s own guidance says markers or additional setup may still improve tracking on difficult objects.
“Scans in direct sunlight”
Creality publishes bright-light ratings for both modes and includes a removable NIR filter. That gives the Pika more outdoor potential than scanners designed only for controlled indoor lighting.
Outdoor scanning can still be affected by changing shadows, glare, movement, surface temperature, and the scanner’s orientation. I would treat bright-light capability as increased flexibility—not immunity to every outdoor condition.

A simple decorative object might move from capture to slicer quickly. A functional replacement part usually will not.
